The golden 3D printer car looks like a child’s toy, but could yet be the vehicle of the future. “I think it’s cool,” said Chen Qi Rui at the wheel of his car. The body made entirely in 3D shows the striations of the printer head that deposits a mixture of plastic and resin.
Engine, steering wheel and mirrors are hand spare parts. This 3D printer car is however a prototype and series production is not yet scheduled.
The future of the industry
In Shenzen (China), workers are building a new gigantic 3D printer. “At home, we can print everything, furniture, tools, cars. For this type of printer giant, we are unique in the world,” said Chen Ming-Qiao, plant manager. The car printed in five days costs 1600 euros and is extremely solid thanks to the material used. Already used in medicine and industry-leading, 3D happen in our daily lives.
